We've completed a brass photoetched set for the Robbe U-47. It is very complete and also quite detailed. I am working on the installation photos and directions and should have them completed within the next two weeks. After that we will start regular production runs and have them to market almost immediately. I estimate the first shipments to start in the middle of March.
The kit will include the deck of course, but also a new brass rudder support as well as a lot of little decorations for the conning tower and saddle tanks, etc. A conning tower floor is included, as are hatches with hinges and handles. A new net cutter and mounting "feet" are included.
The kit was built specifically for the Robbe, which is semi-scale. This means certain liberties were taken from the original boat designs to make it work easily for those who have already built their U-47. For example, the capstan locations are those of the Robbe design, and certain holes have been added to facilitate diving without trapping air. The conning tower floor has holes for the periscopes at the stock Robbe locations as well. We have made great effort to preserve the original features of the boat.
Here are some preliminary pics on our website.
Thanks, --Jay
