    Dissolving epoxy resin

Is there any effective way to dissolve/remove/eliminate cured epoxy resin?

    Erich,

There are a number of (nasty) chemicals that can be used, such as methyl-ethyl-ketone or sulfuric acid, but I'd start here:

p.s. what are you trying to remove the epoxy from?

While cleaning up the storage room, I came across a sub I bought many years ago that has lead shot mixed with resin as ballast in the bottom. I'd like to remove it.

        Erich,

If the inner hull where the epoxy/shot mix is located was not prepped, then you might be able to knock it out.

I've tried pounding on the stuff with a large hammer and a chisel to no avail. I've also tried direct heat via a butane torch, which gives me some progress. But it's extremely slow going.
