The 4 eye butterfly fish that is a Kete.

All the hands you see here went down with their ship on the next deployment.

Map showing location of the loss of the Kete.

      SS-352 Halfbeak

Notice the distinctive upper rudder, installed to increase manuverability ,shown here in 4-22-48. This modifacation was installed on two other subs as well.

The upper rudder is gone in this photo of 1967. Shes also recieved a different sail.

That's odd when I was on the USS Dogfish it also was SS 350.

          Maybe it was 351???

            Bob,

You are correct! When I got sent down from SubRon 2 to get coffee for the Commodore's mess, it was USS Greenfish (SS-351) I was sent to. Coffee was stored in the sail and was full of diesel fuel. Commodore was not amused!!

The Dogfish SS-350 in a floating drydock at New London , Ct. in 1966. Is it my imagination or is that a bulge thats not supposed to be there below the bow plane.

                Same except different view.

Underway during the same year. What is that tripod in front of the sail? You would think that it would have been removed before putting to sea.

The text says it all. They cost so much money to produce then they were expendable! This is the SS-362 Gavino

Good modelers view of props and planes. Also look at the color of the algae stains at the water line.

A spread of 4 torpedos. Each one must have been fired on a slightly different bearing, a true spread.

Notice the unusual shape of the stern. This was after she was converted to a AOSS, a fleet oiler.

An excellant formation picture. Would make a good picture for your computer desktop. The closest one to the camera lens is SS-324 Blenny. Then comes Corporal, Clamgore and Cobbler.

SS-342 Chopper. Here are two men going for a ride in 1958 off of Key West. A pretty cool ride, better than Adventure Island.

It is the SS-338 Carp in the Artic circle in 1948.

In this view you can see the descending limber holes well , including on deck Sonar bulge and sail detail. Notice the uneven application of paint on the upper surface of the sail as opposed to the sides. No doubt anti aircraft coloration.

How often do you get to check under the hood of a submarine? Only on the Subcommittee! Look at the large mufflers.

On the good ship SS-331 Bugara ,a little target practice. In action can be seen the 40mm Bofers closest to the camera and 5" gun in the background.

Either entering or leaving San Francisco in october of 1947.

The rear of the guppy sail can be seen to good advantage on the SS-323 Caimen.
