Now that I look at it again I think that you are right Kevin, It looks like your Akula. Only problem is where is Charlie with his tugboat?The bright sharp image tells me that it is a recent picture so............. Anybody else?

I too think it's an Akula (Project 971 Shuka-B)....the sail-forward hull geometry looks like a perfect match. The flood vents that can be seen also seem to match. If we could see the bow rescue buoy, I think it would be a 'lock'.

Nope I dont know for sure, the website that I got the picture off of identified it only as a Russian submarine(very helpful). Wayne Frey, where are you?
