      Hi Rick,

I can't really recommend a book on Narvik, I'm afraid. Clay Blair's Hitler's U-Boat War Part 1 does have info on U-boats in Narvik but only a few pages.

Anyone else know of a suitable book for Rick?

      Cheers,

      Dougie

            Hi Rick,

Lovely sonar image. I’ve seen some similar images but not sure if I’ve seen that one. The Royal Oak looks graceful in this image.

Thank you very much, Ronald, for bringing the link to my attention. I hadn't seen this website before. The link is now at -

            http://anonymous-generaltopics.blogspot ... label/U-47

If you have a look at -

Now if you compare the section on Scapa, Prien and the patrol sections on u47.org with this website you will see much of it has been stolen directly from the u47.org site. I recognised the text straight away as most of it was written by the u47.org owner and myself. Pure and simple theft. Just cut and paste. To say I'm annoyed is an understatement.

I guess there is nothing I can do about it. The so called “writers” are anonymous and there is no contact email for the site. Can anyone offer advice?

            Cheers,

            Dougie

              in the upper right corner

in the upper right corner of that site you can register. when you start that,
you get also info on copyright policy. try following up with a formal complaint.
unfortunately it shows the text in dutch for me, but I am sure you get to read the english version.

                    Hi Rick,

                    I watched the documentary

                    Hi Rick,

I watched the documentary when it was broadcast on the BBC a few years ago. I can't remember too much detail other than it being a good watch. There is an accompanying book, which is good too.

Have you seen the film Das Boot? It is unmissable. The film is condensed from a 5-6 hour TV series, if my memory serves me correctly. Absolutely great. The novel Das Boot is very good too, very detailed and authentic.

                    Hope you enjoyed the documentary.

                    Cheers,

                    Dougie
