    I didn`t think that NS

I didn`t think that NS had any GE U-boats left on the roster, and if they did would they be a U36 or a U33.

      To continue my Kreigsmarine theme

To continue my Kreigsmarine theme after completing my Type IX D2, U-861 I'd really like to build a WW1 German sub. Does anyone know where I might be able to get my hands on a nice scaled hull & plans or a semi kit of same?

          Thank you soooooooooooooooo much for

Thank you soooooooooooooooo much for that link. I've just emailed the manufacturer for total costs and shipping of their "Deutschland". That has actually been the sub I've wanted to build for quite some time.

When I get started, I'll post my progress.

              here is my italian WWII

here is my italian WWII CB mini sub.
First scratch build. progress is slow.
what you see in the photo is the master shape.
I made a cast of the tower to try the process out.

I'm not making this one up ! honest !
              it's a *real* sub.

                type XXIII 32nd P.

                Finally,
This sub has been sitting on the shelf toooo long. Finally got a good start on it this week. This sub will have a D&E 3 " WTC in it. This will be the first time I ever had a WTC in a sub. "in my mind, the idea is to build smaller from now on" I got this sub second hand from a member in Fla., and promised I would finish it and get it wet, sorry it has taken so long. This boat was running at one time, so to actually get it in the water will not take much effort. Maybe the easiest project I have taken on. More later once its in the pond.
                thanks Jeff Jones
Too old to Rock- n- Roll, too young to die ! Subs are just my speed......

                      I have the final touches

I have the final touches to do, like trimming and painting my HMS Sibyl, an S Class 1:36 boat.
Also have an OTW Valiant almost ready for trim and painting.

And then (I must be NUTS) I'm going to try to scratch build a British M1 WW1
1:72 scale. This such a NEAT looking boat, with a 12" gun and a small biplane mounted on deck.

My collection now includes a Trumpeter Seawolf and a Revell Gato, both built by David Merriman (eat your hearts out!)

Darn the waters gone hard on my pool! Don't you just hate that!

                        Well, as we're proned to

Well, as we're proned to do I've changed my mind AGAIN and decided to scratch build a Japanese I-400 to 1/72 scale, 1700mm long. I'm currently planking the hull and a friend of mine is going to help me with my first attempt at fibreglass moulding a nice hull.

My Engel type IX, U-861 is complete with ATC camera and my "Wolf Pack" deserves an ally in the Japanese sub.

My collection is such that I'm actually running out of space in my workshop and home with my 2 x Revell Type VIIs, Robbe Type VII U-1008, Engel TYpe IX and now the Japanese I-400. I still have a Revell Gato to start, but that can wait........ so I'm considering selling my Robbe, U-1008.

                            Still working on my subtek

Still working on my subtek X-tail Albacore retrofit, its a work in progress. Watch for a builders thread on it in the near future....... Still fine tuning the Seaview and posting to my builders thread on it as we speak. A Revell gato kit also sits on my work bench as I decide whether to build a static model out of it or full RC. I bought a sail and radar fittings set from Ironbottom sound for the gato as I intend to make it into a postwar fleet snorkel. Not to go unmentioned is my fleet of targets that need attention as well as a scratch built twin engine outboard tunnel hull that will be a WOF. Thats wood over foam. As you can see I have nothing to do.

Here is one of my targets that I have been neglecting in favor of submarines. You guys have infected me!

                              Work on my 1/72 scale

Work on my 1/72 scale I-400 is continuing slowly and here is a good look at just how HUGE these babies were during WWII. Here is the hull of my I-400 (planking complete) sitting next to one of my Revel Type VIIs. Remember, these are of the same scale...............

                                Swedish URF Rescue submarine

I've had very little time for building however I have had the opportunity to build a small bolt on version of the Swedish URF or "Ubats radnings Farkost" Rescue vehicle in time for the Canberra Subregatta in March 08.

It simply bolts onto the back of either my Gotland or my Sjoormen class swedish subs. It's just a two piece F'glass mould.

                                regards

                                David Hughes.
