I decided to keep a tally on the funds I spent on my Sushi build just to give someone an idea of what it costs to build a working model submarine. I always get people saying, “How much does it cost†and the ever present “Why do model sub parts cost so muchâ€
This may give an idea of what is involved. Keep in mind all the design and construction work was done by me. So I can’t add that to the total. I am also not adding the cost of the transmitter as I use the same one for all my boats.
These are rounded totals as well, and do not include tax and shipping and basic construction supplies. Epoxy, paint, fiberglass, brass, glue.
Kit= $100
Motor=$40
ESC=$160
Receiver=$50
Battery=$40
Bayonet Ring=$75
Prop=$20
Driveline-shafts-seals=$50
APC=$70
X-mixer=$30
Servos=$30
Cooling kit=$12
Cooling pump=$20
SES-3=$35
R/X Battery=$10
The total is $742. It kind of shocked me too!!
But how can you put a price on fun!! Woo Hoo. BD.
