Hi Jeff,
I read the comments on that string and decided not to respond because we don't need this on the Subcommittee message board. Besides, I didn't need to add more gasoline to the fire. Thanks for nipping it in the bud!
Now to answer Myles' question... I am very interested in U-boats; especially the Type VIIc. I'm in the process of getting copies of many of the original WWII manuals (printed in German). I will use them to write future articles for the Subcommittee Report Journal (SRJ). However, I don't see a need for a separate club. I think that any information, projects, helpful hints, etc., should be posted on the Subcommittee Message Board, or in the SRJ, for all of us to enjoy. In many instances, I've seen postings from guys who have done some really neat things with Fleetboats, Russian subs and modern US Subs, that I could adapt to my Type VIIc.
I believe we have a excellant organization with an outstanding world-wide membership. I know with email and message boards, sometimes a quick response looks quite different than what we meant to say. We all need to be aware of other fellow's feelings; especially when involving foreign messages and responses. I'll be the first to admit that I have to control my sometimes quick response to a message.
Keep a level bubble (and head)...
Regards,
Don_
