    new gap filling method

recently I hit upon a new method of filling gaps. crushed aluminum foil I had some laying around the shop and had an apihany and cut out a small square and folded it until it came down to a 3/16 wide strip then using a smal straight edge to crease it and fold it one last time and then I used thise strip to fill the gap between the upper aft hull (joined to the bottom hull) and the upper main hull starting in the center tack it in place and work down to each side. it can be difficult to match the curve of the hull but once all is tacked in place run a bead of thick CA on the joint and wait for it to fully cure then file the high spots to match the hull and cover with spot putty. one neat thing I did by accident was scuff off the primer and found the silver foil looked like steel plating.
wow isn't it strange that most new methods or practices are commonly found through accidents penicillen and RTV rubber come to mind
