          one point you might want

one point you might want to keep in mind is that red oxide primer turns green when subjected to the sea over time.
a scum line would look nice to and don't forget fuel spills.

              Chuck-

Yes, I have a nice big green scum line already. Really adds a lot of character to the boat.

I hope that's not overdoing it. However looking at the sides of the real boat shows just as much green slime as my model.

Now I just need to make the rest of the red look more realistic.

                    the fuel spill is basically

the fuel spill is basically a series of vertical lines staring at the top of the saddle tank and extening to the waterline and sometimes a bit lower use irridescent colors blues and greens and a bit if transparent purple of course I would reccomend that these colors have bit of silver mixed with them. and finally a light overcoat of clear pearlescant would make it all look good
                    IMHO

                      Okay, where would the most

Okay, where would the most logical place for a spill be?
Also would there be any areas where there are some dirty black diesel exhaust stains? That might look good...

                          Thank you!

As you can see I still have some sanding to do on the upper part of the boat (the white part in the upper left).

Since taking the pic that I posted, I have airbrushed a whitish haze on the red and then dry-brushed it for a 3D effect. I think it looks a lot better now. I have also done the same sort of thing to the props.
