    You should watch the doc

You should watch the doc and make your own opinion.
It is far from being a FOX crap like.
It is maybe just a BIG fantasm but I still think there is a dark side of the moon in this case.
About pictures of a damaged LAII, yes there is one shown in the doc.
About the note, it is NOT written "the cowboys killed us", just "they killed us"....You can do your own conclusions.

For sure this doc is not objective, from the beginning the author wants you to believe his theory, the doc shows his demonstration.
The interest of this TV program is to make you think. Thats all. You are free to conclude.

      Just to throw a little

Just to throw a little science in here. There is no such thing as a depleted uranium "warhead". Warheads explode. I have personally handled, machined and/or extruded this stuff for everything from Phalanx to 120mm M1A2 rounds. Depleted Uranium's benefit is for armor piercing only (lotsa kinetic energy here), as it is 1.5 times the density of lead, and it responds well to heat treating and forging.

Yes it is pyrophoric, and a side benfit of this was seen during Gulf War 1 when the turrets of Soviet-built tanks were relieved of their positions on top of their tanks, but this was due to the secondary explosions caused when the DU touched off the shells ringed around the inside of the turret.

Armor piercing is not a pre-requisite of a torpedo (not much kinetic energy here), nor would you want this material anywhere near a corrosive/confined environment (aka a submerged boat).

Rumor does have it that the newest version of the Daisycutter uses DU powder in place of Al powder, but this is hearsay at best, since our armed forces are trying to become more environmentally friendly by replacing all DU rounds with W rounds. Less chance of residual heavy metal poisoning. But I digress...

Again, not to take sides, but fact checking with *anything* connected to the media is very important.

        I have thrown in a

I have thrown in a time or two the idea of the Delta IV in 1/96,while we were talking about the Oscar. For any vendors out there thinking about it, I would buy one of those Delta IV's in a 1/96 were someone to make one. Sounds like someone else would also.
Not that I should. I have too many on the bench to build right now anyway. But, I would get one anyway, and build it later. Sure would look cool in the pond around a LA class or and Virginia (Hint, hint Matt )
My friend Sergy, who wrote the article in the Report for the Alfa,a former soviet officer, lost many friends in that accident and the Comsomolts. A lesser known, but severe tragedy. The loss of an submariner's lives is hard felt around the world.Reguardless of nationality.
Let us all pray it does not happen to anyone again.
