    Everybody must be filthy rich.

[color=#000000]Everybody must be filthy rich. Nobody knows how to make a cheap functional submarine?

...I'm sure they thought Mr. Hunley was insane when he decided to turn a garbage can into a warship.

I intend to turn a blowdryer into a functional steam reactor! Laugh while you still can!

Great minds are often ridiculed. ]

      If you want to make

If you want to make a cheap functional submarine, it's entirely practicable, however I would advise against the use of aluminium drinks cans for use as a pressure hull- very flimsy indeed.

Also metal makes a great shield for radio waves- superb if you want to keep them out, but we require the opposite.

A much better bet for a cheap pressure hull, is PVC drainpipe.

Local builders merchants let offcuts go for pennies, or usually, if you ask nicely and explain what it's for- nothing.

I would forget about the blow dryer idea, it sounds impractical at best.

Building a simple, reliable sub is an achievement in itself.

I would also keep your model small- they're much easier to cart around, and more fun to sail.

Have a look at this website for more info-

      and a good project here:-

It should answer a lot of your questions.
