    Acrobatic Subs - possible?

I thought about the question after watching an RC airplane do tricks in the sky, is this possible with subs too? I mean, with the water pressure, resistense on the planes, and all. If you could build one, should it be light? Heavy? And would you need any ballast tanks?

    Norbert Bruugen's Delta sub is

Norbert Bruugen's Delta sub is pretty darn close. I think Antoine had some video of some crazy stuff that he was doing with his (please correct me if I'm wrong).

If you're talking hydrobatics, I'd go with a dynamic diver, as the high speeds will basically eliminate the need for a ballast system.

Build it light, smooth, and fast, with big control planes.

      Now that you've mentionned about

Now that you've mentionned about it, I could try to build one in the future (I hope!). I appears to me that it is the Delphin, little German midget suicide sub! You think shape should be something to consider as well?

I think you mean Norbert Bruggen's Delphin sub. The Delta (also kitted by Norbert) is a submersible, which although manoeverable, I wouldn't describe as aquabatic.

To answer the question of are subs capable of anything an aircraft is, well yes within reason, although you may have difficulty performing a hammerhead!

Go here for a good video of some aquabatic subs in action-

          Hi

Yes the Delphin is pretty acrobatic ! Quite cheap, funny to build and to run ...

and do not forget the graupner shark kit.
it's build for stunts (and a dynamic diver as well)

btw, I got my skipjack clear from the water just by
going deep and fast and then jerk the dive planes up.

              Antoine,

What motor are you running in that delphin?

I know it uses a 500 size, but are you running a stock 500, or something hotter?

                Thanks guys for the posts!

Thanks guys for the posts! Ronald, do you think if I ran the a Trumpeter Kilo fast and then elevating the dive planes will make that effect too?

how about the flying sub ? seems like it could do wing overs pretty cool .

Actually, I was thinking about that just a few days ago, how does the Flying Sub "fly" actually? I mean, I've never seen the series but can you make a hovercraft type sub out of it? If possible?

Well the shape of the hull in profile is wing like. So I guess it was a very inefficient flying wing.

No way you could make that design practical, and forget all about making it hover- much too heavy.

Hi Iam running the stock motor with 7 cells.
But the next mod will be a faster and more efficient motor (dont know yet which one) with 8 cells....I want to do like the germans
