Cool sub toys through the years.

With the holidays coming I was thinking of some of the cool submarine related toys we have lusted for through the years.
Please post photos and info of any sub toys you wanted or received or possibly still have.
I thought it would make an interesting read to see what has been available in the past.
And most likely still available now on eBay for a kings ransom.

    I will start I guess.
One of my all time favorites is the Remco Barracuda.
Sold around 1960. I did not have one but my good friend did.
It fired torpedoes, missles, and ran along the floor. Really a cool toy. BDClick image for larger version

            Very cool.
I have a few of the powder subs someplace.
I also have the Gi Joe sub too. Possible future project.
It's missing a few parts but mostly there. BD

How many kids thought they were getting a real sub I wonder.
Or X ray glasses, and Sea Monkies for that matter. Lol BD

                  O speaking of navy frogmen.
                  I had one of these.
Then had to get another one a few years back.
I made a RC scuba tow for it.
It's still a cool toy even today. BDClick image for larger version

Sea monkeys killed my parents. Said no one ever.

I REALLY wanted one of the comic book Polaris Nuclear Subs as a kid. I'm glad I didn't get one.

Speaking of baking powder subs, here is a large scale toy that I had as a wee lad. It actually came with baking powder pills that you loaded in the bottom. It was a fun pool toy as I remember -- without the pills. The scope didn't last long though.

                        Nice!
Did the pressure come out the squirty thingy, on the bottom to push the sub.
Or did it go up and down?
Or both. Please fill us in on the technology Sir. BD

I had one of those too! As I recall, it worked okay....but then we're now spoiled by our current r/c subs.

I don't recall much about the actual pill propulsion. I think it just went up and down. Basically I just swam with it and threw it underwater like a "toypedo" type pool toy. It made a lot of patrols with my Aurora Skipjack.
                              Warm regards,
