            Just had first surface run

Just had first surface run of Krick's u-boat. (Built from the kit with mods). Good stability as built; some difficulty sealing WTC. Dive tests in a couple of days.
            May re-do WTC from acrylic.
Considering doing a "Seawolf" as next project.

                            Making a bit more progress

Making a bit more progress on "Alligator Junior". Here are a couple of shots of her in primer red. Right now I am working on molding/casting the foreplanes, prop guard and rudders. I am going to put a bigger nut to hold the prop on when I get the time to find/make one.

Tim, That 'Gater Jr looks pretty cool. Are you planning on selling short kits of your model? How's that bladder system working in your Hunley?

                                The bladder system is great.

[color=#000000]The bladder system is great. Dr. Art Broder should get an award from the SubCommittee for this innovation. It has revolutionized RC subs in the US.

See what Dave Welch has done with it - for the Revell U-Boat and his Turtle [coming soon] at www.rc-submarines.com Scroll down the "What's New" list until you see Dave Welch's name mentioned.

Haven't really thought about Alligator Junior kits. Its a pretty odd sub and nobody really knows if I am very close on the design.

For me, the biggest issue in the conning tower. It is a hemispherical dome on a coaming that I am not sure I can cast - or if it will be a one-off. The prop, nose and tail cones, rudder and prop guard, etc wouldn't be a problem.

I still haven't figured out how to bi-sect it so I don't get big ugly seams down each side. It didn't matter with my Hunley but it has to be perfect with this one for the video shoot.

If anyone has any ideas on how to hide the hull seams but still allow me to take the top off the boat to work on the WTC I would sure love to hear them!!!
