              Still waiting for my type

Still waiting for my type IX hull from Lee Upshaw's Scale shipyard wich order was placed in 2000. Its the forth year now so do not accuse me of being impatient!!!

Start building a type IX hull in 32 scale myself and this is almost ready. I will build U-123 in early war configuration and U-805 in late war configuration with "Schnelltauchback". This should be possible using one hull and two different kinds of decks and CT's. Momentarely busy with detailing the hull, building and painting the crew/guns for both boats. Have had very much help from Greg Bergman, Rainer Bruns, Jack Kocher and others. Hopefully I can show some progress on this site when I have my digital camera.

                Just started a refit on

Just started a refit on a used 32nd P. type XXIII last night. Put my 1/32 scale type IX in dry dock for a new paint job. Got that done..... And still trying to make a decent running 32nd scale torpedo that can be mass produced.. Can't decide to either build a 3" WTC myself or buy one for the XXIII. Never used a WTC before, always went with built in bulkheads. The thin walled XXIII won't allow this. Future plans are to build another 1/48 fleet boat. Jeff

hey gang its good to be back I have had health issues to deal with but now back building its the best therapy
just finishing a 1/72 nautilus (IT) waiting for a mini servo then button it up and diving we go
I fabricated my own wtc from a section of acrylic tubing used for fish tank cleaning and there is little room in there 2 servos a speed control bevr anf the motor
untested yet so leaks could be a problems but I am confident
also have lights in the wheelhouse but not the salon I would like to post pics but don't have then yet so it will be a dynamic diver
also just buttoned up my krick type Vllb the u 565 with splinter camo pattern I made the stern planes operable
and I am working on a few targets

                    I'm new to the Message

I'm new to the Message Board -- and to this hobby. My first boat is a Dumas Bluefish, built by them. I am now modifying it into the USS Mackerel, SS204.

My big project is an Engel Fleet Boat, which will become the USS Silversides, SS236. As of this posting (April 29), I am still working on the inside components, tanks, radio gear, etc. I have promised myself that I'll have it operational and in the water this year, hopefully in time for the St. Louis Admirals Regatta in September.
