Sorry, B.D., been working double-secret-overtime lately.
Hardly even been able to read these boards for a couple of weeks.
Things should settle down by the end of this week some and I can get back on it.
Wonder if Don O. got any input yet on banner making?

I'm sure you have seen this logo out there, but I could clean it up in Photoshop and make it look a little slicker. If not, I could help out with another logo using PS.
Maybe you could use something other than the shark from the SubRon6 logo though, as the other design element. You're new so I'm sure you didn't know that we (SubRon6) paid to have that created by a graphic artist a number of years ago.
That's one thing I don't want to do is step on anyone's toes! Thanks very much for letting me know. I had a graphic artist create a logo for me a few years ago and it was a big cost. I understand where your coming from, I wouldn't want anyone to use what I had created especially if they didn’t pay for the idea.
My initinal intent was just to throw something out there, if I would have read the replys more carefully I would have seen that Dave and Crazy Ivan already have something going!
Hi Paul, welcome to SubRon 8 country! Yep, BigDave and I have been cooking up some ideas along the 8-Ball theme. Should have something ready soon. Maybe when I finalize it, you could do some Photoshop processing on it. I have Photoshop, but I am just a novice with it.
By the way, have you signed up for SubCommittee membership yet? Frequenting these forums is certainly a great way for sub-newbies to get info, but membership, as they say, does have its privileges. And our new Membership Chairman, Don Osler, just happens to be a part of our Rochester Gang. I'm sure he would love to hear from you. Welcome to the hobby!

Thanks for the warm welcome, I have been talking to Don and Dave since last week and Larry emailed me today to welcomed me also. This seems like a fun group, glad that you guys started a SubRon here in Rochester. I have been wanting to get into R/C subs for quite awhile. I need as much help as you guys are willing to give, everyone has been great answering my questions. Dave sent me some information on kit choices, so I hope to be ready to start purchasing my first sub soon.
I have sent in the membership fee and I am now an official SubCommittee member. (Don, I received my membership packet in the mail early this week. Thanks !) I have been all over the website looking at what others are doing and I'm just amazed at the talent that is out there and here locally !
Ok, I have asked the other guys...what are your thoughts about getting together for a local sub run together in the near future ?
When your ready to send out the logo, I would be glad to look at it. I'm a novice myself in Photoshop, but I would be happy to help out with the logo if I can.
Hi Paul,
Where in Gates? I'm a west of you in Churchville. You may soon learn that open water running is a bit scary. Subs have a bad habit of going down and not coming up. Unlike surface models (targets) you can't wait for the breeze to blow you back to shore. It’s nice to have visibility too. A lot of our water leaves a bit to be desired, with the exception of large indoor pools.
You guys are the ones that would know about the sub's manovering and handeling abilities more than I would and your probally right about it being different between a pool or a pond. I thought because I was the new guy that I would either build a set of training wheels, or tie my sub to a sick in the water and watch it go around in circles til I was trained
Mendon Ponds is a nice place to go, there's a back pond attached to the main one that I sometime fish from my canoe. The water seems to be pretty nice. Another suggestion would be to get permission from one of the owners of the old quarries around here, the water is sky blue and you can see at least 10 feet deep or more. Hemlock lake is another nice place too.
