Tom, I was out in the shop lengthening wires for the second battery pack.
Completed the task and started the testing.
Well, the long story is over on Sub Pirates but the short story here is, total failure.
I even tried the simple system of a Rx, battery and a single servo.
    Nothing works.

You where planning to bring an extra Tx and Rx.
    This will not be necessary.
I will not be bringing my boat.

The frustration level here is high but manageable.
I do not want to deal with this sort of frustration in the field.

I am still going to be there.
I just don't have to load equipment in the truck.

I am sorry Ralph. I certainly can understand your frustration level being high. This hobby has a way of doing that. I am having an issue on the type 9 that makes me want to throw it in the bin. A break is a good thing and a little relaxation might help too.
      Peace,
      Tom
If you can cut, drill, saw, hit things and swear a lot, you're well on the way to building a working model sub.

My hearty thanks to all who showed up for yesterday's SubRonLA run at our usual Yorba Park spot. Weather was perfect, water was good (improved even over last time), successful runs were enjoyed, and all on hand seemed to have a good time -- including myself, despite a rare, near-disaster with little Blueback! Especially gratifying was having newcomer (to our group anyway) Farlan C. join us; may he get his own Blueback running in time for our next meet. Also always super to have Tom C. drive all the way out from Vegas to keep his name on our squadron roster. Can't believe he continues this, but I'm so grateful he does. He's always such fun to have around. Lastly, for me it was especially satisfying to see buddy Neil S. finally get a boat in the water -- his now nearly complete small-size Delta kit -- and after one small, quickly adjusted glitch, it performed fully as desired for the rest of the day. Good to witness Neil having such fun with it.

Speaking of our next meet, we discussed it as a group and are definitely attempting to schedule SubRonLA gatherings on a more regular basis. Take note of these future dates:

        • Saturday, September 10th
        • Saturday, November 5th

...Same time, same place! This particularly means you, Steve Neill, since you have several working boats and now an RV in which to haul them. And Darrin, where have you been?

Best to all, and keep your eyes on our chapter forum for any late-breaking developments.

        JeffP

          Sept 10th is coming up.
I think I will be ready to try again.
My radio was sent off to the repair shop.
In the mean time, Tim, pointed me towards a backup Tx.
I was successful in acquiring it.
It had the 72 MHz module.
I needed to find a 75 MHz module.
The system came with a 75 MHz Rx and a FrFly module and Rx.
Like, I have any idea what that is.
          Tim, again to the rescue.
Tim shows interest in the FrFly stuff.
          So, a trade was suggested.
75 MHZ synthesized Tx module & Rx for the FrFly Tx & Rx.
As I make this post, things are passing in the mail.

Hopefully, mid week, I will be up and run.
          Thanks, Tim...
          ----------------------
I have some 72 HMz stuff...
maybe I should look in to trading it for 75 MHz items I can use.
