    Skipjack 1/72 Scale

    Gents.
After any recommendations, images, illustrations, linkage layout in regard to set up for planes within confines of sail.
Space is not great, and any assistance would be appreciated.

Background is with RC aircraft, primarily ARF. Awaiting wtc from Nautilus Drydocks. So new challenge for a new year.
    Cheers

I have working sail planes in my Skipjack.
THere are those who say the sail planes are ineffective.
I find I use the sail planes for depth control all the time and rarely use the stern planes which are connected to a pitch controller.
    ====================
Here is a photo of the linkage that is in the sail.

The control rod that works the sail planes is hooked to the sail plane control horn and goes to the rear end cap where there is a magnetic connector to the push rod.
Here is a view showing the rear end cap with the sail planes connected.

This boat has gone through at least 7 complete rebuilds.
It currently has an Engel's piston ballast system in it.
It started with a balloon and water pump system.
The hull was originally a "Z" cut and is now a center line cut hull.

I havve lots of photos of each rebuild.

I just noticed the first photos does not show that the top part is 2 wheel collars soldered together.
A 1/16" hole is drilled in to 1 wheel collar and a 1/6" brass rod is soldered in to the wheel collar.
Redrill through the wheel collars to clean the rod out.
Flattened the end to drill 1/16" hole for control rod.
This allows connecting the 2 sail planes inside the sail.

          Another point.
The control rod from the rear cap to the sail is 1/8" brass tubing with rids at the ends to bend the "Z" bend for the horn.
The tubing that goes over the rear end cap is slightly flattened so it can have curve to it to get down to the magnets.

The bend is necessary to follow the drop in the hull shape and not bind.
