The SubCommittee is increasing annual membership dues to $15 per year starting 7/1/25

Posting this email that I, the SubCommittee Membership Chairman, massed emailed to all active paying members on June 3, 2025 at 12:47PM EDT. If you did not receive this email, it likely went to your spam/junk mail or there might be an error with the email address on file:
    Valued SubCommittee Membership,
The SubCommittee Executive Committee thanks you for your continued support and participation in the SubCommittee!

The SubCommittee Executive Committee has determined that a rise in annual subscription charges needs to occur to compensate for increased payments for our various services that we use to maintain our subcommitte.com website, forums, and SubCommittee Reports. As such, starting July 1, 2025, we are increasing the annual dues from $10 per year to $15 per year. This is a fairly easy transition on our end, but there is a bug in the system with respect to members under the legacy "Basic Membership" plan. If you recall in 2022, when we transitioned pay wall options from the forums to the re-vamped subcommittee.com website, we also offered three levels of membership: Basic, Gold, Diamond. All members who were already paying via the forums were transitioned to the "Basic Membership" plan, with some members choosing to upgrade to the "Gold Membership" and "Diamond Membership" plans. We have since retired the Gold and Diamond plans due to not being sustainable from both a logistics and economical standpoint. We then rebranded the subscription plan to "SubCommittee Annual Membership." While I am able to flip a switch to raise the "SubCommittee Annual Membership" to $15 per year, we have identified that anyone who had a membership prior to the July 1, 2025 price raise are not able to automatically update from the old $10/year rates to the new $15/year rates.

IF YOU HAVE THE "BASIC MEMBERSHIP" plan rated at $10/year: To bring everyone onboard under the new $15/year plan, I needed to retire the “Basic Membership” subscriptions and migrate all affected members to the “SubCommittee Annual Membership” subscription. To make this happen, I had to manually trigger the cancellation of your “Basic Membership” plan in order to allow you to re-new under the “SubCommittee Annual Membership.” When I manually triggered cancelation of your plan, you should have seen an email from "TheSubCommittee" stating that "Your Basic Membership Plan Was Canceled." That first email is notification that your "Basic Membership" subscription is in the "Pending Cancellation" status. For now, you can still enjoy the benefits of your subscription until your anniversary date, which is Feb 1, 2027, upon which date you should see another email from “The SubCommittee,” again stating that "Your Basic Membership Plan Was Canceled." This second email is the official termination of your old "Basic Membership" subscription. The next step for you to continue your subscription is to, after your upcoming anniversary date, renew under the “SubCommittee Annual Membership” plan. Please re-sign up at: https://www.subcommittee.com/join-the-subcommittee

IF YOU HAVE THE "SUBCOMMITTEE ANNUAL MEMBERSHIP" plan rated at the old $10/year (i.e. you originally bought this plan prior to 7/1/25): We recently identified that anyone who subscribed to the "SubCommittee Annual Membership" plan prior to the price raise on 7/1/25 did not automatically transition to $15/year based on how our website software is designed. To update your "SubCommittee Annual Membership" from $10/year to $15/year, I need to trigger cancellation of your current “SubCommittee Annual Membership” plan (rated at the old $10/year rate) in order to allow you to re-new under the “SubCommittee Annual Membership” (rated at the latest $15/year rate). When I manually triggered cancelation of your current plan, you should have seen an email from "TheSubCommittee" stating that "Your SubCommittee Annual Membership Plan Was Canceled." That first email is notification that your "SubCommittee Annual Membership" subscription is in the "Pending Cancellation" status. For now, you can still enjoy the benefits of your subscription until your anniversary date, which is Apr 28, 2026, upon which date you should see another email from “The SubCommittee,” again stating that "Your SubCommittee Annual Membership Plan Was Canceled." This second email is the official termination of your old $10/year subscription. The next step for you to continue your subscription is to, after your upcoming anniversary date, renew under the “SubCommittee Annual Membership” plan (rated at $15/year). Please re-sign up at: https://www.subcommittee.com/join-the-subcommittee

SUBSCRIPTION STATUS NOTE: If, at any point during this process, you’re unsure as to which specific plan you’re set up with and it's status, go to https://www.subcommittee.com, log in, and go to “My Subscriptions” under your profile.

PAYAPL NOTE: If your method of payment for your “Basic Membership” was via PayPal, please cancel your $10/year payment to the SubCommittee. We cannot verify this for you, so you’ll need to log onto your PayPal account, select "Settings" (it's the gear icon next to "Logout"), click on "Payments," select "Automatic Payments," you might have then scroll down and select "More activity" until you find "The SubCommittee." Click on that, then find and click on "Stop paying with PayPal." That should terminate your old $10/year payment going forward. If you do not do this, your PayPal will likely continue to push payment every year until you manually terminate it.

We thank you for your patience and understanding. If you have further questions, please reach out to me at membership@subcommittee.com. If you are having payment issues, please reach out to our Treasurer, Mr. Jim Butt, at treasurer@subcommittee.com.
    Ready in all respects,

    Matthew G. Homeier
