The SubCommittee is increasing annual membership dues to $15 per year starting 7/1/25

Posting this email that I, the SubCommittee Membership Chairman, massed emailed to all active paying members on June 3, 2025 at 12:47PM EDT. If you did not receive this email, it likely went to your spam/junk mail or there might be an error with the email address on file:
    Valued SubCommittee Membership,
The SubCommittee Executive Committee thanks you for your continued support and participation in the SubCommittee!

The SubCommittee Executive Committee has determined that a rise in annual subscription charges needs to occur to compensate for increased payments for our various services that we use to maintain our subcommitte.com website, forums, and SubCommittee Reports. As such, starting July 1, 2025, we are increasing the annual dues from $10 per year to $15 per year. This is a fairly easy transition on our end, but there is a bug in the system with respect to members under the legacy "Basic Membership" plan. If you recall in 2022, when we transitioned pay wall options from the forums to the re-vamped subcommittee.com website, we also offered three levels of membership: Basic, Gold, Diamond. All members who were already paying via the forums were transitioned to the "Basic Membership" plan, with some members choosing to upgrade to the "Gold Membership" and "Diamond Membership" plans. We have since retired the Gold and Diamond plans due to not being sustainable from both a logistics and economical standpoint. We then rebranded the subscription plan to "SubCommittee Annual Membership." While I am able to flip a switch to raise the "SubCommittee Annual Membership" to $15 per year, we have identified that the legacy "Basic Membership" plan is no longer allowing us to raise the price, so I am working to retire the "Basic Membership" plan entirely due to this technical issue and migrate those members to the "SubCommittee Annual Membership" plan.

If you are curious as to which specific plan you are under, go to subcommittee.com, log-in, and go to "My Subscriptions" under your profile.

If you are under the "SubCommittee Annual Membership" plan, no further action is required. As long as you have an automatic recurring payment method active, you will see your annual membership charge increase to $15 per year on the anniversary of your subscription.

If you are under the legacy "Basic Membership" plan, I will be sequentially going through and triggering cancellation of your current plan. You will still be subscribed and entitled to all benefits of membership until your next membership anniversary, but upon reaching your anniversary, your plan will then expire and payments will no longer be triggered. You will then be required to manually re-join under the "SubCommittee Annual Membership" plan, with the $15 per year charge. You can also help me with the migration by cancelling your current "Basic Membership" plan on your own via the "My Subscriptions" tab on subcommittee.com. You will still retain your membership status until your next anniversary, at which point your "Basic Membership" will end and you will need to manually re-join under the "SubCommittee Annual Membership" plan. If you take the action to cancel your own plan, you will help me immensely, as I have about 250 "Basic Membership" plans that I have to cancel on my own spare time, which is many hours of work that I'd have to put in on top of my real-life job working on a US Navy Submarine.

If you were under the legacy "Gold Membership" or "Diamond Membership," I have already reached out to you about your compensation methods, since those plans are retired and no longer being offered. As discussed separately with you, you will need to re-join under the "SubCommittee Annual Membership" plan upon reaching the end of your paid membership period.

For all of our members who use PayPal as your payment method, please monitor your PayPal charges to verify that you are only being charged one time. There might be a limitation in the PayPal system that, when you cancel one of the legacy plans that you were paying with PayPal (i.e. if you started your membership with PayPal back when membership was purchased on the vbulletin forums or the old html subcommittee webstie), your PayPal account might not recognize the termination of your subscription and might continue to "push" payments. If this applies to you and you believe you are being charged multiple times, please reach out to me at membership@subcommittee.com and our Treasurer, Mr. Jim Butt, at treasurer@subcommittee.com. He can take a look at the SubCommittee's PayPal account and identify if you've been charged, and then reimburse you for the extra erroneous payments. We want to ensure that you are only making one payment per year and not multiple.

We thank you for your patience and understanding. If you have further questions, please reach out to me at membership@subcommittee.com. If you are having payment issues, please reach out to our Treasurer, Mr. Jim Butt, at treasurer@subcommittee.com.
    Ready in all respects,
