New 1/96th Oscar II kit Acquisition

I am very pleased to announce that Precision Pattern has acquired the beautiful 1/96th Oscar II kit produced by master modeler, Kevin McLeod. Kevin utilized a soft shell molding system to produce his kits. We will move to produce the kit with a hard shell FRP molding system. We have a couple of boats in line ahead of the Oscar II, but the boat will be made available in 2014.
    Regards,

The hull and sail molds are now complete. A bit of trimming and then on to pulling the first test hull. Almost ready to go!

You will notice a customer build PERMIT in behind on bench #2, and the first 1/96th Sturgeon to be pulled from the new kit molds......

                    Matt,
Looking forward to the Sturgeon hull.
                    1. What is the blue colored stand that you use to cradle Sturgeon and Permit boats?

                    2. The Vex radio, Channel 5 & 6, are they like the VR channel on the Futaba radio? Move the channel switch and the servo holds that position?

                    Thanks
                    Ernie

                      Hi Ernie,

The stands are Ernst Ultra Stands. I've used them for years. You can get them from Tower Hobbies and several other sources, as well.

Channels 5&6 will stay exactly where you want them. They are ergonomic switches on the back side of the transmitter. I'll shoot you a photo today so you can see it. I really like these radios. They are a very nicely built radio for a very reasonable price and they are fully programmable. Very powerful! The Subtech SubCommander VI is built on the VEX platform, but with several nice upgrades to tailor it to our hobby. That will be available this spring.
                      Regards,

                      Matt
