    Finally! - new kit!

Well, it has been quite a while since I announced the choice of my next submarine kit and so it is about time I started working on it!
So tomorrow I start working on the hull for the new 1/96 scale Sierra kit.
I will try to figure out how to post pics here as I go so people can follow the progress.
    Stay tuned!

I have just taken the hull from the lathe and it is time to separate the halves, man, this thing is Fat!
It is more than an inch wider than my trenchant or Lafayette.
      I t has a long conning tower too, 9”
I will be shaping the deck tonight and working on the conning tower tomorrow.
I forgot how much fun this was, feels good to be doing a new sub again!
Will post photos soon, when I have something good to show

          Dave,

It didn't work based on a minor typo. The trailing IMG should be preceed by a backslash. i.e.

An easier method then writing the html source yourself is to hit the Image button ... add the url, and presto, it generates the data for you.

That's no small boat your making. Looks good.

          Cheers

                  Thanks guys, I have been

Thanks guys, I have been working on my Japanese destroyer kit off and on for the last 9 months or so and that has been fun but this is the first new sub work I have done in a long time and Im getting really excited about it.
I think that if I ever put a camera in a sub, this will be the one that gets it, this bad boy is fat!
At this time I am sanding the gel coated hull master in preparation of priming it with about 6 good layers of sanding primer, this will allow me to scribe in the lines but not cut into the wood itself.

It was good talking to you too Steve!
Remember, if you are ever down here, you have to come by the house and hang out!

                    Just finished shaping the tailcone

Just finished shaping the tailcone today, so I taped it on and took some pics.
I changed the pics from 8" to 6" in photo editor so I think they should fit this time.

my camera died back in oct of last year, and I have only advanced the project a little farther since then, but I will get some photos up one of these days and they will show some good progress!
