    1/32 Type XX111 - New Addition!

I have a new addition to my hobby room. The UPS guy dropped off this HUGE box. I was quite excited because I have finally got my Type XX111. I have wanted a XX111 for years in 1/32 scale, and when I had herd Darrin Hataway was going to make up some hulls for sale I contacted him. I said if you have a list, put me on it!!! I can tell you the wait was worth it! This kit is great!!!!!!! I wish I could get started, but I have to finish the XV11b first. I have never seen this much detail in a Vac-U-Form hull. He is Good! Thanks Darrin! I will post some photos later. BD.

      Here are a few photos

Here are a few photos of some of the parts. The molded parts, the sail and hull parts. If you look close you can see the panel detail in the plastic.

            Hi Pete,
            If I remember

            Hi Pete,
If I remember correctly it is around 43". I have always loved the XX111, and this is a great size. Not to big for a large pool, and still run nicely in a pond or lake. I think it is the high sail I like most about the design.

            Hey Tim,
If you add enough pressure and heat to that coal you end up with a dimond . You have a 1/32 XXX111, you must be fond of the design yourself. It's just a boat. BD.

              BD-
              OK, I've made out all

              BD-
OK, I've made out all the parts you've got laid out in the photos...couple of quick questions though...
Is Darrin going to offer the two hull halves, conning tower halves prejoined, or will all boats come witht he builder needing to join the parts?
The email I got from Darrin a while back stated he was going to run the rudder controls inside the boat, not outside like the 32nd Parallel. Does it look like there will be room?
What's the little bag of goodies in the photo... railings? steps?

looks like a nice kit. and 43" is about correct///

                Sam,
                Darrin is leaving as much

                Sam,
Darrin is leaving as much as he can up to the builder to keep the cost of the kit down. I think the kit is a steal at its asking price (Check with Darrin on this). I have not checked it over close enough for any rudder linkage questions. But I was thinking a rack and pinion system as I look at it now. Completely doable! The bag has parts to make the railings. There are more Vac-U-Formed parts in the kit I have not shown. Not sure where they go yet.
Seahorse purchased one as well, and has said he will post his impressions. From his email I think I can say he is quite pleased. BD.

                  hey Big Dave,
                  Do you

                  hey Big Dave,
Do you have a set up already for this hull kit? I have 32nd P XXIII also and have been holding out on a wtc for it, I took out all the original stuff, still have it, but will never re-install it. Will one of your WTC's run this size hull? thanks JEff J.

By the way sir, Could you post Darrin's contact info for us?

                    Thanks!

                      Jeff,
                      Steve Neill has started

                      Jeff,
Steve Neill has started building Darrin's XX111 kit, and he is planning on installing his DW-RCABS-R_WTC-3 in it. This will give the WTC some more testing. I also plan on installing my WTC-3 prototype in mine. It fits fine and hopefully it will work out. BD.[/color]
