New 1/72 scale USS George Washington class available

Just pulled the first set of parts from the molds and all look great. This beat is about 63" long and about 8" or so wide. Working from memory so don't quote me on that but it is close. Lots of scribed in detail. You get the 2 hull halves, turtle deck, sail, appendages and 1 sheet drawing. See the pictures for more information. Will have this at Carmel if somebody there would like to be the first to purchase. Sturdy hull without being overly thick. Available for the introductory price of $500.00 Click image for larger version

Wow, that will build into a beautiful sub!
If you can cut, drill, saw, hit things and swear a lot, you're well on the way to building a working model sub.

Hulls look nice. Were they created by laying down multiple layers of fiberglass? Did you also make the molds? (sorry for the newbie questions) Khim

It was molded with interleaving layers of mat and cloth for the best strength to weight/stiffness ratio. Far too busy laying up hulls all the time so a good friend of mine made the molds and I purchased them from him.

I'd be interested in a 1/96th scale version. In 1/96th scale the model would be under 48" long and a little over 4" beam.
