Great, Helen and I get to spend another wedding anniversary with a bunch of model bubbleheads.

I'll start looking for some raffle prizes at the store.

Can't wait! I have a new sub-driver in the Albacore but it's way too cold to work on the ballasting in the pool right now.

That's great Greg. The fun run would not be the same without cookies and Chex mix from you and Laura! Can't wait to get some.

2015 Subcommittee 2nd Annual Carmel Sub Fun Run Updates
                    August 8th and 9th 2015

The Indy Admirals will be holding a joint RC Scale Boat event this year with us at the pond. They will run from the fountain to the far end of the pond, while the subs will run from the fountain to the end with the rest rooms as usual. This is to avoid sub and surface craft collisions.

All RC Scale Boats will be required to run at 2.4 GHz so as to minimize frequency conflicts with the Subs.

Subs will be allowed to run the Admirals Scale course on the surface only as long as they register with the Admirals. For any who want to enter the Admirals Scale competition please see Dave Hampton.

Registration for all submariners will be $15. Please also bring items for the raffle to help fund the event. All Subcommittee members will be located under the big white tent as the Admirals will bring their own tents, tables and chairs.

All pond construction should be completed before our event, as hopefully will the road construction around the Hilton Garden Inn.

We would also like to announce that the Captains Choice Awards will be given out again this year.

                    More info to follow soon.

The 2.4 GHz requirement for skimmers means I won't bring any. All of my subs and some of my surface fleet are on 50 MHz. Any surface runners I might bring would be on 50 Mhz (Ham 00 or 01).

                        Hi Bob,

Kevin McLeod is running the frequency control. I dont see a problem with you using 50 MHz as we have frequency flag control for 75, 50, and 27 MHz at the meet but you will have to share the band with others.

The goal is to have the surface boats run 2.4 to reduce interference and run time for the subs. As there are very few folks running 50 MHz perhaps this will work. Kevin is the guy to give final approval.

                        Don

I didn't even track the 50MHz band last year, but I can add it to my track-sheet for this year if there's enough traffic to warrant doing so. Either way, the point of the frequency segregation is to keep the management simple - but if there's no conflict there's no reason not to bring your skimmers as well.

In the many years we've been at Carmel, there's only been 3 of us running on 50MHz. Most of the time it's been myself and Dan Roe - and we're at opposite ends of the 50 MHz band. If the Indy Admirals don't have a problem with me running a skimmer on 50, then I'll bring one.

I'm starting to get my raffle donations together. The list so far from my personal stash: a couple of props and some motors. Picked up some basic 2s/3s LiPo chargers and some cutting mats with knives from the store today.
