Captain’s Choice Award Ceremony
The rules for the event were unchanged from last year. All registered Captains were given a ballot to vote for their favorite boat. Kevin McLeod’s Oscar was not in the running as it won 1st Place in the 2014 voting. All ballots were collected and tallied on Saturday and it was determined that there was a first place tie between Steve Walker’s Type XXVI and Bruce Martin’s I-19. Luckily for us Skip Asay (the godfather of RC submarines) was in attendance and was called upon to break the tie. After careful thought, Skip chose to flip a coin, and Steve’s boat was the 1st Place winner.
The Saturday ceremony started off by presenting Kevin McLeod with the award for winning first place for 2014 as he was not eligible for judging again this year. He did however get an award to honor his boat as a previous 1st place winner; which he proudly displayed next to his boat.
The 1st Place Award went to Steve Walker’s Type XXVI, the 2nd Place Award went to Bruce Martin’s I-19, and the 3rd Place Award went to Pete Piekarski’s Ohio. Congratulations to these fine Captains and their boats. Also a special thank you goes to Skip Asay for lending his vast knowledge and experience to finding a way to break the tie for 1st Place.

Thanks
Thank You:
The event this year was a huge success and credit goes to all who attended, donated to the raffle, bought raffle tickets, helped out in set up and tear down of tables and chairs, and generally provided great companionship. The weather was excellent and the companionship was even better. If I forgot to mention anyone who helped out, it was not intentional.
Special recognition goes to the following folks:
On-site interface:
Chris Campbell for providing on site interface with the City of Carmel and the Hilton Garden Inn, Boy Scouts for food on Saturday, and for taking in raffle prizes at his place of work.
