    Frank,

Yes, The boat as planned will be a split hull. It is so simple of a kit though that you could pretty much do anything you want to do with it. Price I don't know yet, but as soon as I find out I will post immediately....

Rouge Subworks will be marketing it

    Matt
    Regards,

    Matt

Oh the rogue is going to have to go all in on this one buddy! Nothing beats a bit of overkill and I have all the tools to do it.

Here is a little peak at your water slider demise DAVE!

        Re: SubRegatta 2011

Here are a few more ideas for events. Dave Brelsford and I were talking about just this.

How about just a straight drag race for one event. Like Pinks all out. Could you see a heat of 5 or 6 subs running the length of that pond? WOW! That would be fun to watch too. Take the top three from each heat. Then the top two. Narrow it down to the last two for the title.

And since Big Dave mentions the jumping Sushi. How about a hurdle race course? Set some bars up on floats above the water line so the boats have to leap over them.

I could see a number of members planning to build boats just for events such as these. Some boats like Big Dave's are so wild I know he hesitates to run them for fear that he'll crash into someone else's real nice boat and damage it. But clear the pool for these races and look out!

A few of the civilians that wandered by over the weekend all asked me if there were going to be races. I think that would really draw a crowd.

            Re: SubRegatta 2011

I thought about the drag race format. It would be a ton of fun, but there is on big problem with that is the operator will not be able to keep up with the boat for the length of the pool. No way to see it for the entire race....no see, no control....That is why I was suggesting a pole type race so the skipper can keep his boat in front of him the entire time..

There may be a way to overcome the distance issue for a drag race...

I know I am not the only one who bought the virtual glasses ,what about a underwater course using the glasses only. Put the setup on a neptune and run the course, or have a sub challenge where you have to go and pickup a item or place it in a certain spot. There are alot of possible ideas for new events.

hopefully, if the regatta is in indy again next year (yes, i seriously hope it stays there for many more years), AND they agree to keep the fountain off again, the calm water leaves us open to many new possibilities.

ive seen a few people do a "carmel invisibility" paint scheme over the past couple of years. there should be a clever little award for that as well. or for the most off-the-wall paint job. i was sad to see the infamous "coke-cola" boat wasnt there this year.

Another twist to the jumping subs could be like a ski jump ramp. Get a teflon cutting board and run water over it
like a slip and slide. Take a run at it and see who sails the fartherest and who gets the most altitude.

How about a porpise race? A floating ring weighted down. Scure/impale/pick-up the ring with your porpise (sub nose) and carry
the ring to the finish area.

Something tells me that Matt and Kevin are going to be busy making kits when they become available. Hey Kevin, any idea on kit cost yet?? And what is going to be included in the kit? Just a hint please!!!

                            Price is tbd
It will include the basic hull, appendages, canopy, snorkel, and prop.
I want to keep the cost low so as to make it available to every one.
