Small World Models
A BIG thanks to Dave Manley of Small World Models who sent me a BIG box of motors that will work in RC subs. Thanks Dave!!!!!!!! Dave has a ton of easy to build RC sub kits. Be sure to check them out at the SubCommittee Vendor's page.
David Hall - a buddy at the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (the folks conducting the hunt for the USS Alligator) just sent me a box of "Hunt for the USS Allagator" posters that are sold at the Hampton Rhodes Naval Museum for us to distribute free of charge at the SubRegatta. Thanks Dave!
Raffle coodinator Chris Campbell tells me that Mike and Alyssa Shubar of Mike's Subworks are bringing some of their great goodies for the raffle table. They are always very generous with their donations - so be sure to stop by their vendor table and buy lots of sub goodies from them!
I just heard from Myles Yancy - who as you probably know has a new RC submarine company called Dark Horse Technologies. Myles is the North America dealer for OTW sub kits, FX Models and now, Polks Tracker III RC radio systems. Myles has kindly donated to for the SubRaffle table, a brand new in the box, Polks Tracker III synthesized radio system.
A lot of the guys are switching over to the Polk's radios because you no longer need crystals - just set the transmitter and receiver to any surface frequency you want to use. And the service is great - I messed mine up one time by getting it wet. Polks fixed it for about $30 and had it back to me in less than two weeks.
Thanks for the generous donation Myles, and good luck with your new enterprise!
Jason Overhulser from ModelBrass just let me know that he is donating at least 5 brass upgrade decks for the Revell Type VIIc U-boat. If you haven't seen Jason's decks "in the flesh" they are something to behold. he also has brass for other subs too - check out his website at www.modelbrass.com
