Indoor Pool Sub Run - Carmel Feb 11

Just a reminder - there will be a SubRon6 fun run at the Carmel (Indianapolis) High School Natatorium (pool) on Saturday, Feb 11 in conjunction with the Indy Admirals Scale boat club. We will be from noon to 5 PM.

It is a perfect indoor sub facility - and there is a good amount of natural light from the large windows on the side of the building. You don't need to be a SubCommittee member to watch, but we ask that anyone running a boat be either a SubCommittee member (get those dues in ) or a member of the Indy Admirals.

I checked with Chris Campbell

I checked with Chris Campbell - Indy Admirals Potentate who does the legwork in Carmel for us.

He tells me that his club just leaves a $100 refundable deposit with the city - in case we break anything - but there is no charge to us as a club.

i wish that spirit of altrurism existed over here.

I tried a couple of times to find reasonably priced venues, but they all want a ton of money to use the facilities.

What bugs me, is that in many cases, the places sit empty.

Believe me - at most

Believe me - at most places we would have to pay to rent the facility. Carmel is unusual. The whole place is like Oz "Pay no attention to that man behind the RC transmitter!"

Seriously, I have heard from a lot of the guys who went to the regatta last year how the people in Carmel were really friendly and they were treated really well.
