Sub Ron 5 - Run n' Fun Third War Patrol

Just a shamless reminder. One week from today, August 20th, a gathering of sharks at San Gabriel in Georgetown Texas. Anyone curious or wanting a relaxing place to run is welcome!!
Waters are clear and peaceful ( I looked yesterday), and there is enough room for a national event as far as water and covered area.
What are you doing next weekend?
Come on down for some Texas hospitality !

We're expecting an even better fleet of models this year. Saturday night we'll have forums on resin casting, model weathering and r/c electronics. Plus a way cool t-shirt!

Everyone is welcome to join in the sun and fun.

      I can't wait, Texan Brothers!

Just moments before posting this I was at work on figuring a better way to box up my gear for the plane -- one giant vs. two smaller boxes should save me about eighty bucks in extra checked bag charges. Sounds good! Later today Blueback goes into the bathtub for a trim session and final equipment check. Then it's time to fully charge all batteries . . .

Anyone yet heard from Rich Allsmiller? He promised a call weeks ago, but a couple of e-mailed pings still haven't brought him up to PD. Sure hope all is okay with him.

Standing by for for a commanding weekend,
      SS-581 skipper

P.S. Can't wait to don one of those shirts, Paul!

              Not able to confirm,

              Handled.
Not able to confirm, but sonar last night thought they heard torpedo tubes flooding in the area of the rock outcrop duck base.

                  Mine is still in drydock

Mine is still in drydock mostly due to some Russian problems I had....

But that is clear now. Security is heightened now.
Rumor of a nearly complete Alfa, and faint words of a new attack boat are heard around the owl farm shipyard.

Gail Philips has the slickest Alfa (other than THE Alfa of Jedi master Merrimen) I have ever seen.
His custom work on the wtc is impressive, along with his details. I wonder how many more like him do not come to this board.
                  Yes, there will be pictures.
Warparty starts tomorrow night with boneless buffalo wings(my favorite )

                      I some pictures at home,

I some pictures at home, but will take a few more this weekend.
He has some cool features. A planetary gear drive that is inline with the motor. Nice castings of end caps too. Real clean work on his Alfa. Real clean.
He should be bringing his Seawolf that just got finished.
Paul has the best looking Permit I have seen, including the ones I saw at the national. The Nautulis he is working on is awsome. I feel for however did all those rivets..
It is a good gathering everytime. You would do well to come sometime.
I will put pictures on my homepage Sunday night.
