Sub Photography Competition "Reloaded" - At SubRegatta 2005

This category has always languished a little in the SubRegatta competitions...

SO... this year, before you hop in the car, go through the old albums (or shoebox !) and grab your favorite submarine related photo and bring it to enter in the SubPhoto competition at the SubRegatta. It needs to be a print, but a 4 X 6 is okay or if you have something larger or in a frame - that's fine too!

This can be most ANYTHING submarine related. A photo of a REAL sub, or a cool shot of your RC sub underwater, or a low angle shot of your diarama.

    BRINGING HOME THE "IRON"
Besides receiving a SubRegatta award plaque, the winner will be featured on the cover of the SubCommittee Report December color issue!

Note - since we have had so few entries in the past there is only one award given in this category.

    Tim,
You don't really need the 4x6 print mounted to anything, or in a frame. Just loose is fine? Curious minds in Subron-8 are asking. Thanks, Dave.

No mounting is necessary, but if it happens to be on a matt board or in a frame, that's fine too. Hard copy is the only hard and fast rule though 4 X 6 minimum size for judges with old eyeballs might help

        Tim,

How about posting mutiple entries here? A color shot on the web would be way better than a b&w rendering in the Report -- unless the original is in b&w.

              Hi Paul -
Not black and white. As I said in my original posting, the winner (Dave Welch's shot of a his Disney Nautilus) will featured be on one of the SCR's December 05 colorcovers.

Not exactly sure what you fellows mean by "a web photo", but if you want to put together some rules everyone can agree on for next year's SubRegatta photo contest, submit them to the committee and can come to the show to help run the contest, we'll sure be happy to consider any ideas.

              Thanks!
              Tim

My point was that the website would be a great place to display the entire field, rather than just the winning entry.

                  Ben,

Can you forward Helmut's email address to me? I'd like to discuss his Nautilus with him.
