2021 Carmel R/C Submarine Fun Run is CANCELED

    SPECIAL ANNOUNCEMENT

The 2021 Carmel R/C Submarine Fun Run is being CANCELED

Due to unforeseen complications we will have to cancel this years Carmel
Fun Run. It has always been our goal to provide a safe, organized and
professionally run event for the ultimate enjoyment of the captains attending.
Additionally, the lunch and learns provided the opportunity to learn new skills
and techniques and the raffle helped offset event expenses while providing
    some addition fun and excitement.

Within the past 48 hours a number of complications have arisen which will
prevent us from running the event with the level of organization and
preparedness that we pride ourselves in providing. Rather than hold
the fun run under far less than ideal conditions, we have decided to cancel
the event. This is a one time issue and we are already working on changes
to the way we do business to make sure this does not happen again.

All monies paid so far will be refunded this week.

We are extremely sorry for any inconvenience this may cause and
we will be back, bigger and better next year.

PLEASE be sure to Cancel any Hotel Reservations you might
have made with the Hilton Garden Inn by August 9, 2021.

      Don, and all involved,

I know that it's a difficult decision to make, and disappointing, but I have to agree completely that you've made the correct choice. I'd much prefer to attend a top quality event as the Carmel run has always been and not a thrown together event missing some or most of the major presenters, attendees, and the whole fun of being there with a great group of folks. Thank you (and the rest of the crew) for doing all that you do, and will anxiously look forward to next year. Again, my sincere thanks for your efforts.

Can we still get the shirt?
If you can cut, drill, saw, hit things and swear a lot, you're well on the way to building a working model sub.

The shirts hadn't been produced yet, so unfortunately they would not be available. We do anticipate using the same design next year (updating the year) though.

So Salmon what would you think about a T-shirt design contest for the Subcommittee?

                Well, I'm going anyway.
The Indy Admirals are still having their scale float on Sunday, the pond has water and you don't have to be with a group to run your boats. I have been there a couple times this summer already. Also, Carmel has become a great destination town with the arts district, pubs and craft breweries. I'd enjoy the company if anyone else wants to show up too!

I plan on being there too. I don’t know what happened, but if it’s a scare of covid then good luck ever having this event again. Covid is not going away. I choose to live my life not scared of other people for whatever amount of time I have left. Just sayin’.

There were multiple factors, COVID was a concern but not one of the overriding factors by any means
