    Nautilus Drydocks SUBFEST 2020 - Cohutta, GA - Sept 18th to 20th, 2020

Join us for 3 days of RC submarine operations, education, contests, raffles and above all... FUN! All are welcome, regardless of experience or even if you have a sub (yet) or not!

    Time & Location

    Sep 18, 8:00 AM EDT – Sep 20, 12:00 PM EDT
Red Clay Resort, 5510 Red Clay Rd, Cohutta, GA 30710, USA

Come join us for three days of unlimited RC Submarine FUN!

The Red Clay Resort features a beautiful spring-fed pool with crystal clear water and concrete shorelines, power, restrooms, on site concessions, and camp grills. The venue is only 15 miles from the nearest town and offers on-site dry camping with restroom access.

Attendees will have the opportunity to run with other RC submarine skippers in perfectly clear water with onsite divers standing by to photograph and video your boat in action (and perhaps retrieve any unlucky boats that find their way to the bottom and stay there). Aside from the fun of networking with other sub captains, you'll have the chance to take in the massive assortment of other submarines, learn about new technology and techniques, attend onsite seminars, and participate in friendly contests for "Skipper's Choice" awards and prizes.

No boat? No problem! Come and try out the dedicated "newbie" subs that will allow you to get some stick time in with real RC submarines before you make your choice about which boat to get yourself!

Skipper all-access tickets are $45, spectator tickets are free.
    Pre-order yours here.

Is there a rough schedule of events yet? Basically I'm asking how much I might miss if I can't be there the first day

In addition to the on site raffle prizes that will be available at the event, Ed Tordahl has generously donated a pair of superb RC submarine hull offerings, 100% of the the proceeds of which will be donated to a pair of highly deserving charities.

Here is the information and the links to purchase your tickets (though no purchase is required by law).

                    ABOUT THE MODEL KIT:

The Ray Mason Disney Nautilus model kit is considered by many to be one of the "holy grails" of Disney Nautilus kits. Done in roughly 1/48 scale, the kit features superb details, thousands of hand-placed rivets, sturdy fiberglass construction and much more.

This particular kit has been generously donated by Ed Tordahl. It is in brand new condition, but bear in mind that it was manufactured over ten years ago and there may be slight warping or discoloration to some parts in line with its age.
For a sample of what could be done with this kit from a building perspective, check out the Nautilus Drydocks build video on YouTube here.https://www.rc-submarine.com/event-d...ilus-model-kit

                      ABOUT THE MODEL KIT:

This kit was generously donated by Ed Tordahl. According to Ed:

"The bow was scribed and openings for tubes 1-3, VLS 15 & 16. Sail is scribed too.
The Stern was complete but had suffered damage yet completely restored professionally, just need to open up MBT flood holes there. Prop bushing in place. Midsection is opened as shown for access and contains a DeBoer Ballast tank. The get a DeBoer Gas tank and 6V Cippard valve as well. There are no stern planes and one stern plane is missing the fwd stabilizer. They can reach out to Lee Upshaw of Scale Shipyard or cast themselves. That's a D & E prop sized for 3/16". I also added a bow plane from the other should they want a 688I, they can cast a 2nd."

The kit is in started new condition, but bear in mind that it was manufactured a while ago and there may be slight warping or discoloration to some parts in line with its age.

Not sure what's going on there, but I can't edit my last post. The "title" should read - "Raffle Prize #2: Scale Shipyard USS Los Angeles 688 hull kit".

I'll try from another computer later, but thanks to everyone that let me know about the error.

                          Done. It is fixed.
If you can cut, drill, saw, hit things and swear a lot, you're well on the way to building a working model sub.
