goodies in it. (Torpedo Plaque, Subcommittee tablet, Badge, and other goodies)

NEW FOR THIS YEAR’S R/C SUB FUN RUN:

We are planning to set up an R/C Submarine Navigation\obstacle course.
This is Course is JUST FOR FUN. Run the course AT YOUR OWN RISK!

WE are NOT responsible for errors in Navigation judgement resulting
in various R/C Submarine parts coming off and residing at the bottom
of the pond. EACH CAPTAIN is responsible for their own R/C Submarine.

2019 CAPTAIN CHOICE Awards and CAPTAIN CHOICE
        Big Dave ENGINEERING Award:

ALL Carmel 2019 R/C Sub Fun Run registered R/C Sub Mariner Captains will vote for
their favorite R/C Submarine that is present at the FUN RUN. (Captain Choice Award)

There will be a second ballot to select what they believe is the Best Engineered
R/C Submarine at the Fun Run. (CAPTAIN CHOICE Big Dave’s ENGINEERING Award)

As per tradition, Last Year’s 1st Place CAPTAIN CHOICE Winner, Jim Butt’s Holland VI
Submarine is NOT eligible for EITHER of the Captain Choice Awards as the Holland VI
Submarine won both awards in 2018.

This prevents one boat from winning every year.

Each participating R/C Sub Mariner Captain will be assigned a NUMBER.
This NUMBER will be used to identify the R/C Submarine on the voting
        ballots.

All participating R/C Submarines are eligible for the CAPTAIN CHOICE Award
AND the CAPTAIN CHOICE Big Dave’s ENGINEERING Award except for last year’s
        1st place winner.

I guess it's time to start the after action report.

All of my boats ran good with a couple minor problems. I'm happy for that.

Thanks to all who donated items for the raffle; and thanks to those who bought all the losing raffle tickets, I had more losing tickets than winners. With the winning tickets, I picked up items donated by Rick Tesky, Don & Patty Osler, Don Spielberger, and Don May,

I enjoyed the Firehouse Subs on Saturday. Firehouse Subs donates a portion of their profits to the local first responders - mainly to fire and EMS, but also to the police. Should we have Firehouse Subs cater next year?

Sunday night dinner at Wolfies Grill was great again. Should we go back next year?

I definitely think we should do the Firehouse subs again next year.

I had many more losing tickets, just one winning ticket and with that I selected a prize donated by Don May so thanks to Don!!!!

              Looking forward to next year

2019 Carmel Fun Run Wrap Up:

Thanks again to all who attended this year for the 6th Annual 2019 Carmel Fun Run.
This year we had over 25 registered Sub Captains with a lot of RC Subs. The weather
was warm with a slight breeze that made it very nice. Construction was not as prolific
as in previous years, so it was not as hard to navigate to the pond and restaurants.

At one time we had 14 boats patrolling the Carmel pond at the same time.
The raffle tables were fully stocked on both days again this year. I want to extend a
very special thanks to all who donated this year as your donations once again
generated enough money to pay for the event. THANK YOU!

Our swap table was very busy as well. This year we had a lunch and learn session
in addition to the Saturday night RC sub tech session. Thank you Bob and Helen for
arranging the delicious Fire House Sub lunch. The sub lunches were a huge success
and people have already asked to have them again next year. Don Spielberger
presented a live demo of how to lay up a fiberglass hull outside of the tent.

We also had Warren Wilson and his daughter come up from Georgia to
attend the Fun Run. He is planning on joining us next year with a few of
                his boats running.

Erich Kloss will be writing an article for the SCR that will include more
pictures and information on the weekend festivities.

                Captain’s Choice award results:
This year we had 40 RC subs entered into the competition for the Captain’s Choice Awards.

First Place: Bruce Martin and his Type XXI
Second Place: Kevin McLeod and his Oscar II SSBN
Third Place: Pete Piekarski and his Ohio
