Hi guys. This is last minute but I am coming up tomorrow with 3 subs. I should get there around noon and am staying overnight. Is there a good place to display the subs there? Will I get a chance to run them? I want to take a tour of the Cobia as well! See you tomorrow!

I was kind of figuring that Jim would be the one-he did almost all of the prep work getting our part of this show organized. He deserves all of the credit.
And also, the other Subcommittee people who participated: 2 from NY, 2 from OH, 3 from IL, and all those from WI...

Very nice pics Dave! We will add to them shortly. We just wanted to thank Jim Smith for organizing the sub run with the museum and for all his work in getting the pool assembled and taken down. Also wanted to thank the Maritime museum for the hospitality. They gave us free access to the museum and the Cobia, as well as providing free food and drinks throughout the day to anyone wearing the glow green Crew shirts. There was also a lot going on all around the museum including fun for the whole family. This is a great museum that you should put on your bucket list. The Sub Fest is a great time to see it, but is a good place to visit any time.

Cleaning up after draining the pool. In the first photo Jim Smith (USAF, quit) is swabbing up some residual water. In the second photo, Jerry Clusen, RALH, USNR, Retired gives the thumbs up, while Bob Gesking, CWO4 USCG, Retired wrings out a rag. In the third picture, Bob Eissler in the orange shirt and a museum staffer wait to help fold the liner. Jim SMith, Bob Gesking, & Bob Eissler are members of SubRon6.Last edited by chips; 07-11-2016, 11:30 PM.

Thanks Jim for hosting! I showed up without warning and he took care of everything. Thanks Pat for the tour of the Cobia! I had a great time, have never visited the museum before. There was lots to see and do, next time I'm going to see the boat parade and fireworks. The museum staff were very nice, friendly and helpful. The people attending were very interested in our submarines. Here is a link to my pictures in the order that they were taken: https://goo.gl/photos/6jCRSAKeXi91yJWu7. Hope they do this again!

On a different note I have toured a lot of subs in my day but I have never seen an interior as nice as that one.
