Well, so far it seems
Well, so far it seems the majority of you plan to go the RC route... no surprise there. I wonder how many of you have started, or is everyone waiting to see how this all shakes out?
Oh hey, BD! where is your vote? I know you have two! Or did you get yet another one?sigpic

Gato Boats
I agree. Most guys want R/C. But, us static types, are planning modifications to specific. boats. I'm planning two models. USS Amberjack (SS-522), as built, and Amberjack as decommissioned.
Since she was built as a Tench "Gun Boat" and converted to Guppy IIA, w/North Atlantic sail, modifications won't be minor.
I, especially, like the upper rudder she got during the Guppy Conversion. It gives her a distinctive appearance.
For you R/C types, that upper rudder gave her unbelievable maneuverability.

Just an unscientific one to
Just an unscientific one to get some idea of how many of our little group are actually intending to build one of these things, Tom, not really a marketing querry. I suppose we could include all the non-purchases, though I don't see any way to edit a poll.sigpic

I was going to but
I was going to but the guy at my local hobby shop told me that Revell is going to release a USS Cod version of it around June 2007. I don't know if it's true or not but I think I'm going to wait a little longer and see.

I bought 2 of them
one is under construction now with new lumber holes as a USS Wahoo.
the other is a backup in case i muttle something up. if not it will be done as an early duel 4"/50cal gun boat
these are both to be static boats to set with my 3 1/72 type VII's and 2 XXXIII's
