    705 Alfa

A reminder. Many of these pictures are truely copyrighted and registered with the library of congress. Do not repost anything in the Russian Submarine website without emailing me for written permission.

The staggered bow planes of an Alfa. I confirmed from an Alfa officer, the reason they were staggered, was simply a room problem in the hull.

K123. If you call this a 705 model in front of an Alfa officer, you will be corrected quickly. I was. K123 was a 705K model.First varient with the new reactor system.

Interesting photographs found on the submarina.org website.
    New-to-me Alfa pictures. One , is of K123 , most interestingly dated 2004. The other is K 373, dated 2005 !
Last I tracked, the Alfa's had all been cut up except for one, reportedly sitting pierside deactivated.
    These pictures even "look"recent.

    K123-2004?

    K373-2005 ?

            To be well informed.
            Wait.
Soon there will be a new one out I helped on consulting. 100% accurate.
Worth the wait. 1/96 scale quality hull.

In this picture, does the hull cross section appear to be more oval rather than round like most plans and RC hulls are?

                Brit,
It is the angle, or lens. The hull is round for sure. I had a long talk overseas with the Alfa officer.
Where the models, even recent ones, have missed, was the rear taper, which is straight, not hogner.
I was impressed when I uncovered these, how Matt Thor's Alfa was dead on accurate about the shape, size, and location of the creeper motors, and the vortex attenuator on the prop.
                Dead on accurate.
But wait.. A new Alfa is rumored to be in the yards, that is 100% accurate. I helped with the information.
We wait. I am already down for two of them.

                    That is a beautiful boat.

That is a beautiful boat. I do see inaccuarcies. But I am being picky.
Still, in the water, no one can tell.

This picture is extracted from the book "Атомная подводная лодка пр.705 (705К)" entirely dedicated to the Alfa projet 705(K) submarine
I gave more details to find and get it to Antoine
