Gato -> Tambor

Someone mentioned in one of the Gato threads that the Trumpeter Gato could be made into a Tambor class sub.
I have so far found that the model should be about 1cm shorter, and drawings from "US Subs in Action" show differences in the conning towers.

Is there anything that people more knowledgeable than I might care to contribute? Thanks in advance!

Tambors vs Gatos

There are enough similarities between the Tambors and Gatos that (IMHO) a conversion is possible. But not easy.
I've got a fair amount of documentation on the genesis of the Fleet Boats, (pen & ink drawings and write-ups).
