It's been long overdue and with the release of the Revell Gato kit, it's time to see the creation of a forum dedicated to one of the more favorite submarine modeling subjects - both static and R/C.

The name of this forum, the 1010 Dock, is probably familiar to most folks here. This is where the fleetboats stationed at Pearl Harbor departed from and returned to their patrols. This is where the U.S. Navy started it's first, tenative, offensive strikes back at the IJN after the attack on Pearl Harbor.

The photo below shows the USS Narwhal (SS-167) tied up to 1010 Dock during the attack. She was one of two submarines (the other was the USS Tautog) to shoot down Japanese planes during the attack.
