From the estate of a WWII Submarine veteran came this lot of items. He served on the USS Sterlet SS-392. It includes 2 reunion hats, 6 reunion or veteran's patches, a U.S. submarine veteran license plate frame, a WWII U.S. Submarine Veteran's license plackard ( holes ripped out at the bottom and it's aged & dirty), 3 wooden submarine silouettes that were probably place markers for a reunion, a 1990 submarine veterans calendar with original artwork by Steve Petreshock, a well worn copy of The United States Submarine Operations in World War II published by the U.S. Naval Institute in 1949 - cover is damaged and some pages are loose, an ashtray with U.S.S. Sterlet S.S. 392 in gold ( made by Fukagawa in Japan) - it has a crack that runs between the second S. and the first S in Sterlet (see image), a reunion photo with several of the members holding a banner (see image), and finally his diesel engine training manual dated January 5, 1942 from New London, Conn - it's full of handwritten notes and diagrams. This veteran's name is on many of the items, but out of respect, will only be supplied to the winning bidder. We're losing our WWII veterans at an increasing rate. God Bless them. This lot is heavy - shipping weight will be about 11 pounds and will be shipped from 95967.
