yes, they did actually. i purchased it from them in early '99 i think. it was supposed to be a replica of the red october of clancy fame. the hull is totally inaccurate in the stern, but the scribing work was awesome...surely a good slate to start from for a sharp looking boat.

I owned one also. Basically, it was 32nd Parallel's model to try to get the special effects business for Hunt for Red October. (before they decided away from "wet" special effects) Nice scribing, especially on the underside of the hull. No appendages, only a sail, with no scribe detail. About 6 feet long....reminded me of a photon torpedo from the old Star Trek movie where the load Spock's body and send it off...

            LOL...good comparison!

But mine did come with a very well detailed & scribed sail,

In fact Sam, I think it was a picture of yours I initally saw on the SC site of a typhoon & ohio together that encouraged me to get it. But yours were Copeland hulls, as I remember.

I still have one of those copeland typhoon hulls as well around somewhere. one of these days i'll get back to it...maybe... =)

Does anyone know if the 32 Parellel kits were laid up in epoxy or polyester resin?

Any comments on 32P workmanship or on this kit in particular?

                  Just wondering...
