    Andy is right.
    Many variables in the price.
I don't remember what I payed but it was a very good deal.
The condition of the lathe make a big difference too.BD.

I guess that was a silly question....too many variables.
Thanks again! Maybe Rogue Sub will sell his??? Although he did do a great job of giving me reasons not to purchase it....

You guys are wonderful! We are working on the finances and logistics to make it to Carmel! Look forward to meeting ya'll!
If you can cut, drill, saw, hit things and swear a lot, you're well on the way to building a working model sub.

        Carmel is a great time.
Too many Bubbleheads in one place though.
        Hope you can make it.
        BTW-Here is my Sherline.
It is an older model power head and a newer bed.
I actually upgraded to the newer bed.
The older ones were brass beds.
I still have the original brass bed if anybody is interested.
I guess the brass tended to wear a bit more with age. It still worked well.
It needs a power head assembly to complete the basic lathe.
It is just the bed with tail stock and carriage assembly.
All the Sherline parts are interchangeable which makes it nice.
If anyone is interested $100 plus shipping and its yours. BD.

everything i have done on a lathe for modeling (that includes r/c subs) i have done on a "Taig" i think new there about $375.00? its basic stout and i ran the livin daylites out of mine and is still goin strong. i would say its a great starter lathe. the only thing i would get along with it is the quick change tool post from A To Z makes set up a snap..

Your killing me...... I do not have those kind of resources. I am looking for inexpensive used.
Thank you for revving up my envy!

An Atlas 6 x 12 lathe can be bought used for around $200.00.
Parts are easy to acquire , too.
