1/20 type VIIC for sale (HOLIDAY PRICE!!!) NOW WITH PICTURES

Hello folks, yes the TEN FOOT LONG big @$$ type 7 is for sale. Maybe a week or two's worth of work away from being back on the water. It has the conning tower, Ballast system, drive system, servos, stainless tanks & superstructure all included, it will need a radio & some tweaking. Please contact me directly online here, or at 818 652-3395... OR at hhollins@socal.rr.com & we can discuss things. I will not be able to ship as it's big (over 10 feet) & heavy (well over 100 LBS.) so you will have to come-n-get it! (unless you're close-ish... pay for gas & lunch)? ... I like lobster

How much???I just lowered my price!!! (again) I would like $1,750 for it, Let's talk... I STILL have (LOTS of) bills to pay.

t's a bit dusty & dirty, has a few cracks from exposure & will need a touch of glassing here & there...but you can get the idea. Why get an itty bitty 32'nd paralell boat or that "tiny" Robbe boat when you can super size!
Ok ok enough corn, it's a great boat & a once in a lifetime chance at getting something that will possibly even impress your wife/girlfriend!
Thank you very much for looking... now GET THIS SUBMARINE OUT OF HERE DAG NABBIT!

Hey all, Sorry for the delay... life gets in the way!
It's still for sale & yes I'd do my best to get it to Vegas. (if you are still interested.)
I'm also lowering the price to 2K. WOO HOOO!

I hope that makes the deal a bit sweeter.

          Thanks again everyone,
          Harry

            Harry,

I know of two interested parties here in FL, but we need more info and photos. Can anyone point me at that, either by getting it emailed to me or pointing me at a forum or thread somewhere with the info.

            Thanks, guys!

I know this sub is sold, but where would one find either a full-built model in a similar scale, or plans for building a custom model in a large scale?

I'm not aware of any similarly scaled Type VII being available unless it's a scratchbuilt model. If you would consider a US fleetboat (i.e. Gato or Balao class), then the 32nd Parallel boat is about the same size. Those hulls can be found on the 'used' market as 32nd P is no longer in business.

I'd also suggest taking a look at the OTW Type VIIC kit. Sure, it's smaller than Harry's monster, but it is a superbly detailed kit, included a photo-etched deck and detail parts. And it's still a very big boat even at 1/32nd scale.

Plans.....specifically for the Type VII - there are no better than those found in the book [i]Vom Original zum Model] by Fritz Köhl. Alternatively plans can be found at the Taubman Plans service....part of Loyalhanna Dockyard (who are very good folks).

-let us know of this helps,

I appreciate the pointers, and I was indeed able to locate a copy of said book on Amazon, although I ordered the IX/C version. Myself and a friend from work are planning a scratch-build 1/20 scale IX/C, and were looking for a good set of plans. We've got a proof-of-concept set up; we're doing a genuine combustion-motor (hopefully a small diesel but we're having trouble locating a pair in the proper/necessary size; if anyone knows where we can find a 1.5ft-square diesel, we'd appreciate any info) / electric motor setup, complete with functioning snorkel and generator. We'll post a dedicated build thread soon.
                          Thanks again!
