MCDVARI-VOLT MOTOR REVERSING RELAY
6 AND
MCDVARI-VOLT MOTOR REVERSING RELAY
6 AND 12 VOLT VERSIONS
FOR USE WITH THE MCD SWITCH 4, SWITCH 4EX, SWITCH 8, SWITCH 16
AND ADD-A-SWITCH ACCESSORY CONTROLS
If the functions used in your unit are set in latched mode, severe
damage may result.
SPECIFICATIONS:
INTRODUCTION
INSTALLATION
The VARI-VOLT MOTOR REVERSING RELAYS are used with the above systems where bidirectional
control of a motor is required. This type of motor can be used in such devices as
cranes, gun turrets, winches, bow thrusters and bi-directional pumps (as used in submarines to fill
or empty the ballast tank) or any other project which is required to move in two directions. The
use of the VARI-VOLT RELAY requires the use of 2 functions of the accessory control set in the MOMENTARY MODE ONLY.
First, determine which of the 2 functions you wish to use to control the motor. Then connect the
wires fromthe VARI-VOLT RELAY as per the diagram. Example below is for SWITCH 8 System.
The above example is used for a motor with a different voltage than that used to operate the
ACCESSORY CONTROL. If the motor requires the same voltage as the ACCESSORY CONTROL
(6 or 12 volts) then the following wiring is used. The normal supply voltage and other wires to the
SWITCH 8 have been left out to simplify the drawings.
OPERATING VOLTAGE: 6 or 12V.
OUTPUT VOLTAGE: 1.25-30 V. depending on battery supply,
CURRENT CAPACITY: 2 AMPS-30 VOLTS; 6 AMPS-6 VOLTS
