    Revell Type VII + WTC

    Time to cull the herd.

I have a Revell Type VII with a WTC that just won’t get in the water anytime soon so it’s got to go. The hull has all the flood slots opened up and the stern has been machined to allow the stern planes to operate but that’s about all that’s been done. I also have the ModelBrass deck kit.

The WTC is absolutely complete.....right down to the receiver. It includes Airtronics 6 ch. receiver, motors, speed control, 3 HS-50 servos, APC-4, batteries (2100mAh NiMH), RS-5, SubTech seals, external on/off switch, and a piston type ballast tank. The Lexan tube has been reduced in diameter to reduce the overall weight as well as the amount of pressure hull above the water line while surfaced. While the WTC has never been installed, it is fully functional.

$550 includes shipping to anywhere within the US.

Note that the long white wires will be shortened before shipping. I was in a hurry to test!

Overall length is 17 5/8" but that consists of the following:
      2.090" X 13 1/2"
      1 7/8" X 2 3/16" (for batteries)
      1 1/2" X 1 7/8" (for bow planes servo)

I'm very interested, but I don't think I'll purchase. I hope you don't mind me asking questions about the WTC, though.

Can you give information about the piston tank? I working on the WTC of my Trumpeter Seawolf R/C conversion, and while I think I could make it work with a regular RCABS ballast system, I'd prefer to use a piston system and avoid creating a vacuum in the WTC.

While I personally prefer the piston over the flexible bag, either one will result in pressure/vacuum in the WTC.

            Skip,

I wish you were selling an RTR boat, I would buy it. I just KNOW I'll never get around to building that Revell VIIc, but a VIIc I could go play with right now (even though it's teeny tiny), I'd be into that.

Does your WTC have dual prop shafts ? I'd like to have that WTC just to see what all goes in there and how you stuffed it inside.

              Yes, it does.

There's just no comparison between this tiny little thing and yours. It's all pretty much the same size stuff, except for the servos and motors, but putting yours together will be a whole heck of a lot simpler!

                Skip,

I agree, it's a true challenge to convert a small sub to r/c. Mine....heck.....I could put a 3 horse Briggs & Stratton in it. The fact does remain that I don't know what makes up the guts of an r/c sub. I'm currently trying to figure that out.

                  WTC for Revell Type VII

                  Skip,
Is the RTR WTC still for sale? I do not need another Revell kit, what would you take for the WTC only?
                  Thanks,
