    Antenna

    Hi guys, new member here.
How does one get the antenna out of the WTC ? Also what about a receiver switch ? Any thing else you can pass along will help me.
    Thanks

    Bud-
    welcome...first things first- Mr Administrator,

    Bud-
welcome...first things first- Mr Administrator, can you bump this to the R/C forum?

Are you using a homemade WTC? If you're using one of the D&E WTC systems, DAvid includes the antenna wire. All you need to do is cut your wire on your antenna from your receiver and screw it to the contact inside. Make sure you pay attention to the length...remove the amount equal to the length of what David has on the external side of the WTC.

As far as receiver switches- well, for a WTC 3.5 they're not needed. Run your receiver through a BEC (Battery Eliminator Circuit) and use the battery cable/battery plug that powers your WTC as the switch for turning your electronics off and on. In a WTC 3.0 (at least the ones I've owned...) you could put the switch in the front compartment where the battery pack goes.

This is the way I've done it in the past. Your mileage may vary.

If anyone out there has a better way, speak up!

      Just to add onto what

[color=#000000]Just to add onto what Sam said - if you are building your own "home brew" WTC, getting the antenna out is easy too.

Just drill a hole through an endcap, tap some threads into the hole, screw a stainless bolt through the hole, and cut off the head end leaving enough thread on either side to screw on a couple of nuts with washers. It helps if you leave a nut on when you cut the bolt so after the head is off, and you back the nut off, it refreshes the threads. You can put some some silicone sealer around the assembly if you want to keep the wire from grounding in the water.

      NOTE]
