      Hi,

Hmmm. Can try Secondhand, should be able to get something nice for the price you're looking at.

Engel do the Lafayette, which is above your price range, but it is a complete kit, and looks really easy to put together.

Or how about a 1/100 Typhoon.

You can get that new for $400 from Maquette models.

          In another thread I answered

In another thread I answered about the Typhoon, someone said that they have had difficulty conatcting the folk at Maquette, so I'm not sure what is occuring there.

It is the same hull used by Engel for their complete Typhoon kit.

Another alternative are the Typhoon hulls from Norbert Bruggen.

These are more expensive than the maquette version, but are more accurate (the bow is more blunt).

Probably still come in under $500 mind.

The Typhoon looks like a fairly easy build to me. No detail to add, other than perhaps persicopes etc.

All the scribing is done, so it's a case of install a WTC, add the control surfaces, paint, trim and go!
