Hey Folks, Here is a rare opportunity to own something special and not often seen for sale. Let me start by saying these will be pick up only. I am located in Newburgh NY, about 60 miles north of NYC.With one exception all these will have some other items, control surfaces, prop shafts etc, but I am not listing these until I locate them. You see everything was put into storage years ago. My wife became very ill and I did everything possible, lost our home and ultimately lost her too. So I have decided that I cannot go back to the hobby and I want these boats to find a good home. As time passes I will locate the parts associated with their hull and post pics too. For your consideration:
#1 Type 7- started by prior owner $1200.00
#2 Type XXI. 32P. built a few of these but never went into production. Some detail work done. Deck turrets scratch built. $1000.00
#3 & #4 Two Gatos Nothing really done to them $1500.00 each
and finally #5 My personal gato, modeled after the USS Silversides. I was in the middle of doing a full rehab when my wife fell ill so many things were not finished. I designed a forward and aft torpedo platform. Set up to fire the fish just like to real thing. Stainless steel air tanks hold the compressed air that would push the torpedos out. A module would activate the electric motor after the fish was pushed past a magnet and run for x amount of seconds. A Clippard control board would be activated to control the impulse air. I was able to design and build a 21/32 diameter torpedo that utilizes a torque eliminating planetary, just like the real ones. A shaft comes off the motor into the gearbox and two shafts come out the other end, one inside the other. Thus counter rotating props. The prototype was out of brass but never got to make one out of plastic. The conning tower was rebuilt in brass not finished. All the control surfaces, front and rear dive planes as well as the rudder were retooled using the original plans with interior ribbing and aerodynamic profile. Included is also a camera periscope with transmitter. Hull stabilizers on both sides. started building prop guards just never installed them.Robbe Navy 14 radio with many control modules. Even high torque servo for rudder. I found that at full speed if you tried turning the servo didn't hold and the rudder would flex, hence redoing all the control surfaces. Custom cradle. I even had hundreds of teak milled to apply to deck. I planned on using epoxy resin to attach the teak to the deck. Many extra parts, servos, wiring harnesses, books, research material, EVERYTHING. Whatever i find will be included. I'm out so I don't need any of these things. $4800.00
