WTB. Gently Used Russian Sub (pref. RTR & under $1k. In SoCal) or Dumas Akula Class.

Tried to sum it up as best I could in the title...

Looking for a decent Soviet/Russian Boat, Dynamic or Static Diving, pref. RTR/Functional & Under $1k if possible. (I do know what goes into building 'em, it ain't cheap or easy!) Can pick up local - some areas in SoCal. Other locations or out of state, must be willing to ship. If you have a 'Project Boat' that needs a little work, but is otherwise complete, and you think I might be interested, let me know. 🙂

(The Dumas Akula Class, or USS Bluefish are both also acceptable. Willing to consider other odd sub-jects!)

By the way, I should also mention I've also been looking for ANY kits (I know there was one big one out there, but looks like the guy went out of business?) or plans for a Soviet Project 641 - 'Foxtrot' Class...

        Akula II

I have an Engel Akula II that has only been run a few times in a small pool for testing purposes.
It is in perfect, "like new" condition with optional variable ballast system and Hall sensor.

        Many other options including:

        • Wire and Connector Set, no. 2000-99
        • Battery Pack High Power, no. 5557
        • Boat stand, no. 2000-Z
        • Servo S8213 MG BB, no. S8213 (2 required)
        • Speed controller SUB-COMMANDER BL 30, no. 3750
        • Pitch Controller SPC2, no. 1574
        • auto. Reverse Drive Detection for SPC2, no. 8454
        • UBEC 3 A, no. 3775

I am in SF Bay Area.
        I would need about $1,200.

                I'll determine shipping to 98074.
It's packed in the Engel original shipping carton.
                Any preference on shipping?
                PayPal is preferred.

It made it to its new home! 900mhz rx installed and just need to program radio and find a place to try it. We closed our swimming pool on Monday, so need to find a different venue.

The dock at Pine Lake isn't too bad but it's a bit of a walk from parking. Downtown Park in Bellevue isn't too bad. About 18" deep so it's good for sea trials.

Are either of you guys in Western Washington? I have run Subs at Pine Lake in Issaquah in the past. I ran a couple Subs at the Bellevue downtown park just a month or so ago. I wouldn't recommend it. It's only about a foot deep now. If you run submerged you will scrape on the rough cement bottom. Also It's a crowded park and very noisy because of the waterfall. It's a nice pond, just not ideal for subs.

I have access to a pretty nice private lake with a nice dock in the Monroe area. If anyone is local and wants to meet up let me know.

Hey Jason, this is Steve. I used to live in Sammamish but emigrated to Texas last month. I suggested Downtown Park as a fairly safe place for a sea trial since you can walk out and get your boat if it doesn't respond. You are right about all the other issues. Heck I'd go there in the rain to minimize the crowd interference!
