Brian,
If it is a Doug Badgley kit, I now own the rights to the kit and would appreciate you not copying it. My release of the kit is due out in a few weeks.

My mistake! I thought it
My mistake! I thought it was mine. I am not sure if Ron is out of business or not. I still see some of his stuff floating around. He did some excellent work!

I'm sure the Type XXI
I'm sure the Type XXI hull was originally modelled by Maurice Rickett. I think Ron Perrot purchased his masters, which I believe also included an LA class, Resolution class and probably one or two other boats.
I haven't heard sight nor sound of R & R engineering, or Poseidon or whatever else they last called themselves for several years.

HEY GUYS, I DID NOT
HEY GUYS, I DID NOT MEAN TO START A FIRST GRADE DEBATE! MATT, YOU KNOW I WOULD NOT COPY ANYBODYS WORK,ESPECIALLY SOMEONE WHO STARTED FROM PLANS, AND SOMEONE LIKE ME WHO WORKED THEIR HART OUT TO PRODUCE A MOLDEL TO SELL!! #### ANY ONE WHO WOULD JUST COPY A MANS/WOMENS WORK, WITHOUT THEIR PERMISSION IS NO BETTER THAN A TERROIST IN MY BOOK,AND EVEN WORSE, IF THAT PERSON OR PERSONS COPY A MODEL AFTER BEING TOLD NOT TO!!! WELL THEN THAT PUTS THEM BELOW A TERROIST AND WHAT HAPPENS TO THEM IS JUST TO BAD!!!! I HAD NO IDEA YOU ARE COPYING OTHER BOATS,I THOUGHT YOU MADE YOUR`S FROM SCRATCH, LIKE MYSELF! HEY IF I EVER DO COPYS,FIRST I HAVE TO HAVE PERMISSION FROM THE ORIGIONAL BUILDER, AND I WOULD STILL GIVE FULL CREDIT TO THE ORIGINAL BUILDER HECK EVEN IF I CHANGE DETAIL OR OR MAKE IT DIFFERENT, IT WOULD BE NOTED IN DIRECTIONS WHO THE ORIGINAL MAKER WAS, BEQAUSE IF YOU DONT, AND YOU TAKE CREDIT FOR IT YOUR LYING TO YOURSELF AND YOUR CUSTOMERS! WHAT DO YOU THINK MATT?

Brian, I know you would
Brian, I know you would not reproduce without permission and full rights. You and I have known each other a very long time...I agree with you.
The Type XXI that I purchased the rights to has been copied already. That is why I am somewhat sensitive about this. To assume that I am scared is ridiculous. I was warned about it by the original manufacturer(model master, Doug Badgley) before I bought the kit that it had been illegally copied. The deal on the Type XXI included all original masters, patterns, and tooling. I am still keeping a very close eye on the individuals who are involved. There are some very unethical people out there who have no concern about the financial and time issues that goes into making a kit. The major manufacturers work together very closely to watch for this sort of thing and look out for each other. Each manufacturer leaves a signature on the boat that only they would be able to locate. That is the easiest way to detect a fake or illegal copy.
The Type XXI and the original Alfa are the ONLY kits I have ever produced that were not a 100% ThorDesign original. The old Alfa was originally Deep Sea Designs Alfa from 1993. Lee Upshaw now has the molds and rights for that particular boat.
Ron Perrott is a very good, personal friend of mine. He sold me the rights, patterns, and molds for the Resolution class boomer. I still have all of them!

Mr. Zak,
If you would please
Mr. Zak,
If you would please read my message to Brian, it was addressing his request. I NEVER said you had copied anything in any way or were selling a copy of anything. My message was directed at Brian and not at you or what you are selling. Please re-read. I meant no insult toward you and was not insinuating anything towards you. If you misunderstood my message I apologize.
BTW mine is 168, what is yours?

I tried going to the
I tried going to the MENSA website, but became confused and had to leave. I think they purposefully make it extra complicated just to keep normal people out.
Peter, what are you asking for this boat and does it have twin 500ml piston tanks? I would be interested in pics because I could not find any Poseidon pics on the internet. If you can email pics, please send them to jason@modelbrass.com
It looks like Robbe is going to take forever on coming out with theirs, at least until they fix the front planes' mechanism. Does this kit have retractable front planes? Also where are you located?
Thanks in advance, --Jason

THANKS JIM,ANDY,MATT FOR CLEARING THAT
[color=#000000]THANKS JIM,ANDY,MATT FOR CLEARING THAT UP A BIT. MATT I AM GLAD YOU WOULD NOT EVEN THINK THAT I WOULD COPY YOUR KITS,AND I AM SHURE YOU WOULD NOT COPY, OR HAVE ANY THING TO DO WITH ANY SCUMBAG THAT WOULD COPY MY STUFF!!! I WILL TELL YOU IT`S GOOD TO KNOW THAT THE MAJOR MANUFACTURERS WOULD BLACKBALL ANY ONE DOING THAT! EVERY BODY THAT READS THIS KNOWS HOW MUCH HARD WORK, AND SACRIFISES HE OR SHE WILL PUT INTO A SCRATCH BUILTED, MODEL, FITTINGS ECT.. AND THEN SOME LASY PERSON JUST COMES ALONG AND COPYS IT FOR HIS OWN, OUTRAGES!! I MUST SAY IF THEIR WAS ONE THING I LEARNED FROM DAVID MERRIMAN, IT WAS WHAT HE SAID OVER AND OVER TO PEOPLE AND ME, "NEVER EVER COPY SOME ONE ELS WORK! MAKE YOUR OWN" HE IS A MASTER MODEL BUILDER! AND I RESPECT HIM FOR HIS TALENT! WHEN I PRODUCED MY FIRST BOAT, 571 NAUTILUS IN 1]
